OMR Gallery presents selected fragments from the extensive photographic work of Spanish artist Alberto García-Alix. With striking formats, intimate portraits, unyielding close-ups, and landscapes that transport us to parallel realities, these images capture the poetic vision through the artist's eye.

His work, intimately connected to his life and personal experiences, demonstrates a profound understanding of portraiture and composition. Through the interplay of light, shadow, and textures blended with social contrasts, García-Alix challenges himself as a photographer by being both the narrator and the protagonist of his work. Simultaneously, he challenges the viewer, who acts as both witness and voyeur to scenes that constantly provoke thought. The photographer emerges as a collector of subjects, situations, and lives, creating a dialogue with the characters he captures that survives the passage of time, reflecting the rebellious spirit of a generation.

García-Alix is one of the most significant names in contemporary European photography, with major solo exhibitions like the retrospective at the Rencontres d'Arles or the "From Where There Is No Return" exhibition at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid in 2008. The film of the same name was screened at the Centro Cultural de España in Mexico City from Thursday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 12th, 2011.
